BEHIND THE LENS

Hello and welcome to my website!  So you may be wondering why I did not name the business with my own name in a flashy bold font. I have an explanation for that.   My daughter, Hadley, was my inspiration behind picking up a camera in the beginning.  First and foremost I am a mother.  I am a wife, and at the time I started this I was also a full time employee within a large company.  The main reason I switched my creative outlet from other forms of art to photography was simple. -Time.  

 

I bought my very first Canon 7 years ago and immediately started firing off photos of my one year old daughter and everything else in her path.  

 

A couple of years went by and eventually I decided to transition from shooting as a hobby to shooting with intent.  Hadley and I went out for a full session with several outfit changes and gear in hand, and for the first time I fell in love with the art of photography. The scouting of locations, styling my subject, and loading the photos to view. I loved ALL of it.  I posted my photos, and the requests for my services started pouring in. So... that being said had it not been for her, I never would have purchased my camera and we would not be here today.  The name Hadley Grace just seemed to fit and she did help me get started after all.  

 

Now that we have established who I'm not, lets get into who I am :) My name is Kelly.  I am an artist, photographer, seamstress, a wife, and a mother of two.  

When I'm not busy tending to my family I'm taking photos. 

I shoot mainly in natural light and will travel the Kansas City and surrounding areas for clients on location.  I photograph families, seniors, children, and any fun happenings around town.  I love shooting engagement sessions and weddings as well.  Feel free to contact me with any questions about booking a session and I will get back to you within 24 hours or less.
